Redesigning Tactical Notifications When Everything Looks Critical
Soldiers were ignoring critical alerts because the system treated every notification identically. Through design thinking exercises with real operators and three rounds of on-base usability testing, we restructured the notification system around how soldiers actually prioritize information.

Bringing Security Into the Conversation Before the Platform Was Ready
AWS customers couldn't ask Amazon Q about security threats because the system refused to answer. I designed the extension that would let Q handle security questions by routing them to a specialized GuardDuty integration, months before the API could support it. The pattern I proposed now exists across multiple AWS surfaces.
